An illustration depicting four Carrion Crows feasting on a succulent pomegranate fruit. The image shows a curious and delightful irony, through the suggestion that the fruit could be either a pomegranate or the rotting flesh of some long dead creature. The illustration accomplishes this by playing on the Crow’s carnivorous and often seemingly gluttonous nature. Liquid drizzles down from the object of their curiosity, but it can be either fruit juice or blood, who knows? However, the point of the image is to simply convey a sense of confusion symbolic of these often unpredictable creatures. Are they carnivores or herbivores? Are the solitary or sociable?
